Reflections on the Luke 18 Weekend

This past weekend, House of Prayer Edmonton hosted 72 hours of continual prayer and worship for the G8/20 summits in Toronto and Huntsville. This was part of a national prayer initiative called the Luke 18 weekend.

We met at Edmonton Worship Centre which was a wonderful facility. We saw the fragrant incense of prayer and worship rise up continually for 3 days! From 9 a.m. on Thursday June 24 until 9 a.m. on Sunday June 27. There were about 40 people who signed up on the schedule to fill the 36 two-hour blocks and there was continual stream of people who just dropped in over the days. I estimate that we had over 100 different people participate in the weekend.

It was awesome to be part of a national initiative of prayer. You can read a national report on the weekend here, from Sara Maynard who was the national coordinator of the weekend.

There were so many amazing stories that came out of our Edmonton weekend. I wish I could tell all of them.

This was easily the ministry highlight of the year for me. I was deeply honoured to stand together in intercession with so many amazing musicians and intercessors from around the greater Edmonton area.

Once again I am utterly ruined for the vision of seeing a 24/7 prayer room established in Edmonton, where the fire on the alter will never go out!

If you were connected and/or involved in the weekend of prayer, please leave a comment to share about your own experience from the prayer room!

I was blown away by how well people took to the intercessory Harp & Bowl worship. The worship and prayer combined seemed to really engage people and resonate with them. Good stuff!

As my husband and I arrived at the Edmonton Worship Centre to participate in the Luke 18 prayer time I was overwhelmed with the sense of honor to be invited by the Lord to be a part of this. As I entered the building the presence of the Holy Spirit was electric. There was a sense of unity in the room, not only for Edmonton, but from across the country. This was an amazing experience with eternal consequences in building God's Kingdom here on earth. Only God knows the full agenda He accomplished through this Luke 18 weekend.
