Various Thoughts

The last two weeks in the HoPE prayer room have been a lot of fun and quite unusual. The number of people who came to the prayer room doubled what it normally is for the week. I'm not sure why. We did have a special event when the staff of St. Albert Alliance came one day, so that was great but it won't be a weekly event. This week things seem to have returned to normal.

Tomorrow night I'm going to the movie 'The Book of Eli' with my friend Brad Jersak and a few other friends. Brad is in town to speak at the Breakforth conference. You can watch my recent interview with Brad here.

I have to say that I felt 'The Book of Eli' was a quite profound movie. I totally loved it, although when I saw it, I'm confident that the vast majority of the audience totally missed the significance of it!

Next week on Friday, Feb. 5 we will have a prayer group from Central Baptist coming to the HoPE prayer room. We are planning to do a slightly extended time that Friday night, beginning with a brief orientation to the format used at HoPE. We are also planning to have a number of musicians involved, so it promises to be a powerful weekend.

Interview with Brad Jersak

A couple of weeks ago, my friend and author Brad Jersak was in town and I had an opportunity to sit down and do a short interview with him. He was in Camrose teaching at the Lutheran College and we recorded this interview in a local coffee shop. Brad is the author of several books, including the best selling Can You Hear Me. Please visit Brad's website for more details on his books and ministry.

Coming Soon: Interview with Brad Jersak

I spent last night hanging out with Brad Jersak, who has just released his latest book. I grabbed the opportunity to do a short interview with Brad and I plan to have it up on the website in the near future.

It was great fun to spend the evening with a group of close friends and to catch up with Brad and the latest happenings in his life.

We got into a fantastic discussion around Luke 7 and the account of Jesus being anointed by the sinful woman at the home of Simon the Pharisee, as well as many other things.

So stay tuned and look for the interview when it comes out!
